Around The World In 40 Nations: Australia

Welcome to the first part of what could hopefully be (depending on the success of this) a 40 part series. 40 nations have been selected bringing a total of 75 leagues all harnassed into one save file. I will be searching through the "lesser" played countries and leagues in the hope of finding someone new or unheard of. This means there will be no Premiership, La Liga or Serie A in the series or any other regularly scouted areas, including Brazil, Argentina, Holland, France, Germany, Portugal etc. etc. Ofcourse some of the names we will encounter will not be on your average save game, you will need to select additional players from that country when you start a new game. However, if someone particularly outstanding at £3.98 becomes avaliable from Persegi Bali FC of Indonesia, then it may be a wortwhile thing to do.
We will begin Alphabetically with Australia (ending with Wales if things go to plan), a nice place to start off at, mainly because there is only one league and 8 clubs, making this an easy start for me.

Position: Goalkeeper
Value: Asking price of £1,000
Age: 27
Suitability In England: League 2 and at a push maybe a League 1 backup
Comments: Gets on this list because of his value, he is a steal at £1,000 and is good with one on ones and reflexes, although he has an eccentric nature, which depending on your opinion is either good or bad.

Value: £150,000
Age: 27
Suitability In England: League 1 or Championship
Comments: A bit pricey at £150,000 and I don't know what his selling price will be, although if you can get him at a reasonable price you've done well. He is an all round defender adequate to solid in all areas from defending to attacking, his main weakness being his lack of aerial ability, then again a lot of fullbacks tend to lack in height anyway.

Suitability In England: League 2 or League 1
Comments: Another expensive player, but his main assets lay in his youth and finishing. He will score goals when in the right company and he still has some further potential ability to fill. Perhaps best suited to a League 2 team pushing for promotion.

Comments: A creative force in midfield who has reached his limelight and has possibly another season or two left in him of any use. Could be an interesting proposition for a League 2 team.

Comments: Coventry and Portsmouth fans may remember him. He still has the skill in his locker and could have one last season in the limelight left in him as he knows how to find the net.

Comments: Looks like a capable goalscorer with his pace and finishing ability, he can hit a freekick well and so hopefully can tally up a few goals in England. Unfortunately his mental attributes are rather shocking.

Comments: A very solid all rounded goalkeeper who is very young and has lots of potential to fill. Unfortunately his aerial ability is a little poor, but apart from that he is brilliant value for money.

Position: Left Back, Left Midfield, Defensive Midfield, Centre Midfield

Comments: Chelsea youth academy dropout by the looks of things. He is a very all rounded and versatile player, definately worth buying to add some cover and depth to your championship squad. A little lakcing in aerial ability but nevertheless a good player.

Comments: All round goalkeeper at a decent price, however jumping should be better for a goalkeeper.

Comments: Cheap but has the right stats in the right places for his position. Would do an adequate job in the lower leagues

Comments: Very strong centre back (the takes no shit kind). He'll deal with aerial threats well in the low leagues, however his pace leaves a lot to be desired.

Suitability In England: League 1 or 2
Comments: Obviously not an Australian raised footballer, however his ability is what matters and along with the potential and promise of "what might be" he is a good investment or player to go straight in at the low leagues.

Comments: A versatile attacking player, he can score goals and take on defenders to a certain degree. He offers little aerial threat however.

Comments: A quick attacking midfielder who can cause distress in the middle of the park using his brazilian skills, however he suffers from being as weak as a kitten.

Comments: Another all round goalkeeper at a very young age. A bargain for any team in the championship or below.

Comments: All round defender, he is neither special nor incapable. Would do an ok job in the low leagues and is at an affordable price.

Comments: Fresh from Newcastle, Craig Moore is ready with Premiership experience and although he is very expensive compared to any alternatives in Australia, his quality tends to be better than the alternatives.

Comments: Young attacking winger, faily cheap and will improve to become a useful attakcing threat down the right or if you need, upfront.

Comments: Very cheap prospect who is already a capable goalscorer, in time his pace and dribbling will hopefully increase making him a formidable force in the lower leagues.

Comments: An all round striker who is particularly good aerially. Good value for money in return for the goals he will score.

Comments: Solid defender, aerially good and a capable tackler and marker. Will do a good job for any lower league clubs.

Comments: Most of you should remember him from his time at Palace. He is a good defender and still has the skills despite lacking pace and would be good for one season or perhaps even 2.

Comments: We all definately should remember this guy from his spells at Boro. The little Brazilian tends to move clubs as a hobby but you cannot deny his technical abilities and flair, would be a good one season signing.

Comments: Young all round keeper with good handling and a little bit of an eccentric. Very cheap and worth a look at.

Comments: A talented and creative football, a little more expensive than alternatives but generally more all rounded, only really lacks aerial ability, otherwise a very good purchase if you have the cash.
