If you’re a true Arsenal fan, then you’d probably remember April the 8th. If you’re a die hard Liverpool fan, then you’ll definitely remember this date. If you’re a fan of neither, then let me explain. Liverpool had to pit their wits against Arsenal in the Quarter Final Second leg, trying to take advantage of the first leg that ended 1-1 thanks to Dirk Kuyt. In the return leg, Arsenal took the lead only to fall to their knees after Liverpool abused their cruise control. The return leg at Anfield ended 4-2 with some mesmerizing incidents in both legs such as the Bendtner block (oh dear), and the clear penalty that should have been awarded to Arsenal after Kuyt rugby tackled Hleb.

I won’t deny that the example provided is clearly biased in some sense, but what I’m trying to explain will only be mutual through your own team. After this game, I was inspired. It was a Tuesday night- a pretty big night for students who like their beverages. Yet, shamefully I wanted to curl up in my room with my laptop close by aiding Liverpool to Champions League Glory- yet, had this game not happened, or had we lost- then I doubt I’d have found this enthusiasm.

I’ve seen this happen on the forums. Anyone remember Havant and Waterlooville’s amazing run in the FA Cup? It was tested on the game by people across the scene- had they not achieved this feat, I doubt anyone would have wanted to start a game with them.
